In the US, check out Facebook contracts for accessing information by hundreds of millions of users.

The US attorney’s office is investigating contracts that Facebook has entered into with some of the world's largest technology companies. About this, referring to the sources, writes The New York Times.
The court demanded documents from at least two well-known manufacturers of smartphones and other devices. However, it is not yet known which companies we are talking about.
Both companies have entered into a partnership with Facebook Inc., having received wide access to information of hundreds of millions of its users. Also, about 150 companies entered into agreements with Facebook, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Sony.
Agreements allow these companies to see friends of users, contact information, etc., sometimes without asking the user for consent.
Facebook claims that over the past two years, they have stopped most of the partnerships and are working with investigators.
